Here is a topic that has fascinated me for the better part of a decade. You would think with a simplistic concept of a "Shifting Pole" that it would be pretty cut and dry as to how to explain what it represents, this is as far from the truth as you can get. There are a variety of possibilities that could occur when you describe a "Pole Shift" Scientists are convinced that the magnetic fields of the earth are shifting, and adverse weather patterns are a chief symptom of such an endeavor. A magnetic field shifting position in an extreme scenario such as depicted in such big budget Hollywood fiasco films as "The Core" where much of our satellite tracking, and most of our electronic based "Guidance" systems are based on a fixed positioning of the earths magnetic field. All hell can break loose should the poles shift a few degrees or reverse polarity all together. Another scene in "The Core" involves pace makers shutting down, but the image that stuck with me were the thousands of utterly confused birds. These are very real possibilities to occur should the "Pole Shift" be electromagnetic in nature. Another version of a shifting pole revolves the entirety of the planet shifting on its axis. In the geological history of our planet there is some credible evidence to support that at some specified time in earths history this has actually occurred, and if it has happened before, it WILL happen again. Scientists have uncovered fossilized remains of palm trees in the arctic circle and otherwise polar regions. They will tell you that this frozen tundra of a wasteland was at once a tropical paradise, at least the fossilized records indicate this. A third possibility revolves around what is termed "Global Warming" (Although I freely admit to minor bouts of idiocy, I have never quite bought the whole green house scenario. Simple reasoning (no basis in scientific training, just acknowledging my weak spots) hot air rises. It's really cold in space. You may think it can nippy inside a Denny's at four in the morning, but that really is a heated blanket in comparison to space. As air will naturally rise, the higher it gets the colder it gets, and as it cools goes back down again. By the same token, if everything can escape the atmosphere as is also claimed, something tells me that Woody Harrelsons idea of an oxygen bar wouldn't be a trendy California thing, they would be in every bodies garage.) But global warming isn't exactly the greenhouse effect, its a bit more wide spread and complicated. With the rising temperatures overall across the lands, it is beginning to have an adverse effect on weather patterns which for the most part have been a fairly stable constant. Some say this is also a precursor of an impending ice age. Although these topics are fascinating, are also getting a bit away from the "Pole Shift" other than to say that this global warming has also been indicated as a result of a magnetic pole shifting, if not the cause of it happening. The big scam for a "Pole Shift" revolves around a true notion of what the internet has dubbed "Planet X" which to is also a variable that regardless of how much in this universe is discovered, will remain as the "Next Planet" learned of. The selling point of "Planet X" revolves around a planet that exists within our galaxy on an orbital path of 3625 years. And that its existence was first recorded in our history from the ancient Sumerians and dubbed it "Nibiru" The planet of the crossing. This planet is supposed to be big. A whole lot of big coming our way. Sliding nicely in between Mars and Jupiter. On one such crossing the stone tablets of Sumer indicates that it collided with Tiamat and after the dust settled both the earth and the moon had been born. The impractical upshot of this scenario unfolding again is that many are claiming that this will in fact trigger the physical "Pole Shift" as Nibiru approaches, we become more gravitationally pulled by it than we are the sun. As it begins a sling shot effect around the sun it will in essence stop our rotation for "X" amount of time and as we try to follow it on its course our planet gets pulled over off its axis. Causing things like lakes and oceans to find new homes etc. Pretty much the fun stuff of the bible. The trick of the matter currently, is that apparently its here. Or in our neck of the woods once again. Its arrival could easily coincide with the Mayan astronomical calendar in which it describes the end of this age on December 21 of the year 2012. In a nutshell? Apparently we're fucked. But I wouldn't let it get you down, there are far graver concerns in this world to focus troubles on, like the Bush administration. However for some good news, and possibly some hope. With all the claims of the impending "Planet X" that has been posted, they forgot to consider that their claims are a matter of record, and to date (except the 2012 one, which is on the horizon) they have been wrong. Nothing. The first date that I became aware of and has long since gone was may of 2003 (still here, still typing, barely breathing though, but that's a smoking thing, not a Nibiru thing) The new dates to replace the spent ones seem to flow in a three to six month extension in general. Which to stopped as time progressed and it would seem that our "Internet Prophets" finally took to heart the lessons learned long ago of the Mormons. "Rule 9 in making prophecies, never offer a precise date, it only leads to trouble" And so it goes. "Planet X" is 100% guaranteed to be out there. (Matter of a fact I will lay you 10 to 1 odds that threes at least a few hundred thousand of them just zipping around their orbits waiting for one of our carbon based life form to spot it from some mountain top) The question becomes, is there one stopping by for a visit? But that is the basics of the potential pole shifts. In doing a lot of reading on the subject, the claims made by those scarring you senseless about it of what would actually happen should our planet attempt to imitate a bowling ball, does seem to match some of the age old prophecies from the bible. And I will be adding that section shortly. |
